New Heroes of Might and Magic : Orion's Belt

For all the fans of Heroes of Might and Magic series, just like me, I'd like to present here a game that will definitely please you. The major difference is that this game is a space combat game, and not on the fantastic theme like Heroes.

The game is the Orion's Belt Browser Game and it's an online multiplayer free game. You only need a browser to play it, and it shares a lot of features we had on Heroes of Might and Magic. If you're like me you would really like a multiplayer version of Heroes of Might and Magic. With Orion's Belt you have exactly that. A vast universe with a lot of players to interact with, and several features of Heroes of Might and Magic.

The first feature of Heroes of Might and Magic you may see on Orion's Belt is the universe map. On Heroes we had several maps, each one with lots of locations to explore, and enemies to face. I really liked that feeling of seeing some location I didn't know, and going there curious to find out what would happen to me.

On Orion's Belt there aren't many maps, the game has a huge universe map with lots of locations. The most basic location is the planet. The planet acts like the mines on Heroes, they provide resources and you need to protect them. The other actors are fleets, that represent your armies, just like on Heroes you had you Hero. We also have worm holes that allow fleets to be teletransported to several points on the universe.

There are also several other locations that make the game a lot of fun, like markets for trade routes and trading, relics for alliance wars, arenas for gladiators, pirate bays and academies.

The battle system on Heroes of Might and Magic was great. Not only did we have to manage resources and the empire, but we also had to micro manage battles. And that was great. Heroes had a lot of combat units available and it was a lof or fun playing on the battle system.

Orion's Belt has a similar battle system. You produce combat units on your planets, and you travel on the universe with them grouped on a fleet. When you see other fleets you may attack them. When you do so, you'll enter the Orion's Belt battle system. The game has a lot of combat units, each one with its own abilities. Poison, paralyse, triple attack, strike back, bomb attack, catapult attack, range, movement type and cost... I have no doubt that if you liked Heroes of Might and Magic's battle system, you'll definitely love Orion's Belt one.

Being a Tactical MMO, Orion's Belt is just like a Heroes of Might and Magic multiplayer game! Not only do you have to manage your empire and play your battles, but on Orion's Belt you also have to consider a universe with thousands of other players. Alliances are crucial, and the game provides lots of ways for alliance wars to happen.

There are relics on the universe that provide rare resources to alliance members. This makes that alliances focus on getting relics and defending them. This provides a lot of fun to all those that love space multiplayer games!

Even the batle system may be multiplayer. Orion's Belt support battles with four participants (allied, or all against each other). This is just another great feature of this wonderful space browser game. So, did you like the Orion's Belt concept? Then waste no more time:
